



The US army has announced it is recruiting nationals of other countries with temporary residence permits in the USA. The Army command has decided on this move in response to the need for people with military medicine skills, professional intelligence data handling, and command of foreign languages. After serving for six months, such individuals will be granted US citizenship.
Still, they Army will not recruit anyone wishing to server. The candidates must meet specific requirements. Such persons must pass an exam in English, must have lived in the US for at least two years without leaving the country for more than 90 during this period. In the first year, the US Army command will restrict its recruitment to 1,000 troops.
A Pentagon representative declined to provide official details of this campaign, but did not deny its existence. Ever since the Vietnam war, this is the first case of immigrants being allowed to serve in the US Army.
